Each attorney at Peters | Mair | Wilcox has handled numerous appeals in federal and state courts, both from cases they tried and from cases tried by others. Mr. Peters has handled both criminal and civil appeals, including numerous appeals before the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Mair was an appellate attorney with the Colorado Public Defender's Office and has handled nearly 100 criminal appeals before the Colorado Court of Appeals and the Colorado Supreme Court. Mr. Mair’s appellate practice has resulted in reversals of numerous convictions, including convictions for first degree murder, assault and controlled substance offenses. Mr. Wilcox has handled many civil appeals in the Colorado Court of Appeals and the Colorado Supreme Court on issues ranging from breach of contract to breach of fiduciary duties. Mr. Wilcox has successfully upheld the dismissal of cases against corporate clients on appeal, and his appellate practice has defined the evidentiary standard for punitive damage awards.
